Spending 1 and a half hour here, we went to the Red Fort at Walled City. This monument is named after the red colour sand stone of which it is build. It is laid out along the river Yamuna as an irrergular Octagon surrounded by a wall of about 2.5 kms in circumfrance. Its remains is an impressive testimony to Mughal grandeur. It was build between 1638 and 1648 A.D. After Shah Jahan decided to move its capital from Agra to the newly planned city of Shah Jahanabad which is known today as Old Delhi or Walled City.
